Why Art?

Here’s my little rant!

Having majored in Art history as well as being an artist myself, I've always desired to share my passion for art. In my opinion, art has become very under appreciated as well as misunderstood by younger generations. I can say this because before I took any classes related to art history, I myself, felt this way. There needs to be a greater understanding as well as a wider access to art education and and one that ACTUALLY intrigues younger students to WANT to learn more about art. Art should not be something students learn because it is a required “divisional” or because their advisors suggest it will give them some sort of “diversity.” Why? Art is indispensable and timeless. Art is expressive, creative, inventive, cultural, historical, and truly one of the only ways that society has been able to overcome adversity. That being said, I would love to share some commonly known artists that I love as well as some that might not be so generally known! I hope to share my appreciation for these artists, their art movements, and the affects they have had in both the art and non art world. In addition, I will be using this to share some current working artists who I have come across, to tell their story and showcase their awesome work.

I hope that in following along you too find find a new appreciation for art. However,if you already are an avid art lover WELCOME. Lets all get creative and inspired together. :D
